September is Self Care Month!
Posted On: 9/14/2022
Self–Care Awareness Month is a time to remind us that taking care of ourselves, first and foremost, is essential. Self-care is often neglected in our everyday lives. We all tend to put others needs before our own and it is crucial to remember, that we cannot fill another’s cup from our own empty vessel. While getting a massage or taking a walk are just a few examples of taking time for our well-being, self-care can be more expansive than that. Self-care knows no boundaries. It is something that everyone, without any exclusions, can benefit from practicing on a daily basis. True self-care is not self-centered nor selfish; it is simply keeping yourself the focus of your own life. It’s about paying attention to how you feel in each moment, communicating clearly, speaking up for yourself and saying yes or no…guilt free

The Drought is Now!
Posted On: 7/26/2022
We are in a drought ...
- Don’t let the water run while brushing teeth, shaving, or washing hands/face. This can save more than 100 gallons a week.
- Run the dishwasher only when you have a full load. Automatic dishwashers use about 15 gallons per load.
- Use a bowl of water to clean and prepare vegetables rather than letting the faucet run
- Avoid running water to thaw food. Place food in refrigerator overnight or defrost in the microwave.
- If washing dishes by hand, don’t let water run continuously for rinsing. If you have 2 sinks, fill one with rinse water. If you have only one sink, first gather all your washed dishes in a dish rack, and then rinse them quickly. Also, using the least amount of detergent necessary minimizes the rinse water needed.
- Just remember, every drop counts, let's make a difference!
